Fire Station Doha: Explore Contemporary Art and Creative Exhibitions

Fire Station: Artist in Residence is a contemporary art and cultural destination located on Mohammed Bin Thani Street in Doha, opposite Al Bidda Park. Housed in a former civil defence building, the venue has been transformed into a creative space that supports artistic development, cultural exchange and contemporary exhibitions.

Originally built in 1982, the building served as a fire station for more than three decades before becoming part of the Qatar Museums network. Its original architectural character and distinctive industrial appearance have been retained, creating an interesting setting for visitors interested in architecture and contemporary art.

One of the main attractions is the Garage Gallery, which hosts changing exhibitions featuring works by local and international artists. Rather than maintaining a permanent collection, the gallery presents different exhibitions throughout the year, offering visitors opportunities to discover a variety of artistic styles, creative ideas and visual expressions.

Fire Station also supports emerging artists through its artist residency and creative programmes, providing opportunities for artistic development and collaboration. Visitors can learn about its contribution to Qatar's contemporary art community while exploring the building and its exhibition spaces.

The venue also features Café #999 and Cass Art, an art supplies retailer, adding to the creative atmosphere of the destination. Whether you are interested in contemporary exhibitions, architecture or Qatar's growing cultural scene, Fire Station offers a distinctive cultural experience in Doha.

It is a suitable addition to a Doha sightseeing itinerary for visitors who enjoy art, creativity and cultural destinations. As exhibitions change periodically, visitors are encouraged to check the current exhibition schedule before planning their visit.
